ABOUT MILES FOR MILAN
The sisters of Phi Sigma Sigma at Hofstra University come together every year to honor the life of our sister Cristina "Milan" El Shahawi. She tragically passed away in a car accident in 2013, and every year we host this event named for her. Through this event we not only come together to remember her, but also to keep her love for education a focus point for our chapter. While she attended Hofstra she received her degree in education. In rememberance of her we have created the Cristina "Milan" El Shahawi Scholarship Fund where the proceeds will benefit a sister of the chapter, past or present, who wishes to pursue an educational goal. Please join us in our 8th Annual Miles for Milan (virtual walk) and we thank you for your support!

HOW YOU CAN BE A PART OF MILES!
How it works:
Fill out the google form to let us know you are participating. You can participate as a group, organization/club, family, or individual.
2. Find an app that works for you to track your steps. The ‘health’ app on the iPhone automatically tracks your steps for you! There are also various free apps in the App Store.
3. Starting on Monday November 8, start tracking your steps for each day. Take a screenshot at the end of each day, or there is an option to get a weekly summary.
4. On Wednesday November 11 we will be gathering participants' steps as a mid week check in. Be sure to follow @phisighu on Instagram to get updates during the week, and see the leaderboard at the end of the week.
If you decide not to actively participate, you can still donate using this donation link!
